A Gospel for the Wayfaring

This is the authors introduction to the book:

If you have ever been curious about what really took place “in the beginning” way back in Genesis, then chapter one of this book will explain it to you in layman’s terms. If you have ever been confused about all the arguments over baptism, then you will surely want to read chapter two of this book, where the three baptisms mentioned in the Bible are explained. Or how about the cultural confusion over marriage, human relationships, or human sexuality? Chapter three discusses some rather startling revelations concerning these issues. And then, many people have no idea what Paul meant when he stated, “The One who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world” (1 John 4:4). You will want to read chapter four to discover the answer. But that is not all because those who do not understand all the covenants that God made with His creation over the centuries will certainly want to read chapter five. And finally, all those who struggle to understand what it truly means to be a Christian in the 21st century will want to read the last chapter, chapter six. May God anoint your mind as you read this important book.

Now it is time for my reflections on my husband's book.

Wayfaring is an old King James Bible translations word. By definition, wayfaring is a person who is on a journey traveling by foot. We are, as Christians, on a journey to follow our Lord Jesus, in this life. The objective of this book is to bring a common understanding of some crucial foundational aspects of faith and scripture, and to build understanding the need for salvation. To understand why we need salvation one must go back and understand what happened in the Beginning, at creation and in the Garden of Eden. This is where The Gospel for the Wayfaring begins.

Please don't expect that just because this book is subtitled, a theology that everyone can relate to, the book is simple. It is a look at essential aspects of the Christian faith that we need to truly understand. Some of the chapters are quite long, so you will need to read them slowly and ponder them deeply. I remember trying to teach others about the trichotomous view of mankind, that is that we humans are three parts. It is quite challenging to define a person as three parts and gain an adequate understanding. This is a theological term not an everyday one. It is my husband, Jim, that made it possible for me to wrestle through this, until I could explain it well enough to teach it to others. In this book he explains this quite well. This understanding of our trichotomous nature is important to us, as we seek to understand the need for salvation.

As you read the book take it slowly, especially when the chapters are long. I recommend reading by section rather than by chapter, when the chapters are long. We do hope to make some revisions in the future to the book, that would help these lengthy chapter issues, but we are unable at this time.

When you do start reading the book please reach out to Jim. He and I would be very happy to wrestle through anything you desire together. You can get your copy of the book at: Publishing | Christian Literature (astrollthroughseries.com) astollthroughseries.com under the publishing button, where this and his other books are made available. The understanding of scripture and the foundations to faith that are shared are vital as we desire to mature in our faith and walk with the Lord.
